Mission Control and the briefing

Your home page: the AI briefing, tasks, calendar snapshot, and chat.

Mission Control is the home page. It opens with a greeting, a summary line showing the day's events, tasks, unread mail, and anything waiting for approval, and a briefing card that ranks what matters most right now.

The briefing

The briefing is an AI-generated summary of what's happening across email, calendar, and tasks. It rebuilds itself after every sync and at configurable edition times through the day (default 07:00, 11:00, 15:00, 19:00).

The briefing is structured around people, not chronological order. Messages from known contacts are ranked higher than mail from strangers. Newsletters and automated notifications are counted and kept out of the way rather than listed individually.

What the briefing shows

Headline. A single sentence framing the day.

Needs you. The items that require a response or decision. Each entry has a quick action: Reply (opens the email), Review (goes to Approvals), or Task (scrolls to the task panel). If there are more items than fit in the summary, an overflow count is shown.

Day shape and tomorrow. A plain English summary of the calendar: what's on today and, after the first edition of the day, what's coming tomorrow.

Voices. Summaries of content from contacts marked as followed voices. When someone whose updates matter publishes or sends something, the briefing surfaces a digest rather than leaving it buried in the inbox.

Going quiet. A note when a relationship is cooling, with a link to the People page. This is an early nudge before someone drifts into the dormant tier.

Noise count. How many newsletters and notifications were kept out of the way, so there's a sense of volume without the clutter.

Regenerating the briefing

The briefing regenerates automatically after each sync. To force a fresh version immediately, press Regenerate now at the bottom of the briefing card, or in Settings under General.

Edition times control when the briefing publishes a new framing through the day. These can be changed in Settings under Connections, in the Briefing editions section.

The chat panel

Mission Control includes a chat box alongside the briefing. This is the same assistant available on the Chat tab; conversation history carries across.

The chat here includes suggestion buttons ("What should I tackle first?" and "Catch me up since yesterday") for a quick start. New chat starts a fresh thread, and History links to the full conversation archive.

Tasks panel

Below the briefing, the tasks panel shows open tasks grouped by urgency:

  • Overdue tasks that have passed their due date
  • Due today tasks due by end of day
  • In progress tasks currently being worked on
  • Up next upcoming tasks

Each task can be marked done with the checkbox. Tasks with reminders show a clock icon and the reminder time. High priority tasks are flagged with a label.

Tasks can be created and managed through chat ("Add a task to call the accountant by Friday") or directly on the page. Quick add is available at the bottom of the panel.

Calendar snapshot

The calendar panel shows today's schedule at a glance: upcoming events, free windows, and an indication of how busy the day looks. It links through to the full Calendar page for the week view.

Approvals count

If there are pending approvals (email drafts waiting to be sent, standing instruction actions needing sign-off), the count appears in the summary line and in the navigation bar. The Approvals page is where all queued actions are reviewed.

Setup nudge

If no accounts are connected yet, a setup card appears on Mission Control linking back to the Welcome page to finish connecting email and calendar accounts.
